Product Overview :
The Fail Safe Controller (FSC) was Honeywell’s first-generation safety controller, designed for high-integrity process control and safety applications. Although the FSC system is no longer available for purchase, Honeywell continues to support migration, spare parts, repairs, and service through local LSS organization representatives.
What Is It?
FSC is a SIL 3-certified integrated safety platform based on Quadruple Modular Redundant (QMR®) technology. It provides high-integrity safety functions for critical applications, including:
- High-integrity process control
- Burner/boiler management systems
- Process safeguarding and emergency shutdown
- Turbine and compressor safeguarding
- Fire and gas detection systems
- Pipeline monitoring
The FSC system integrates seamlessly into Honeywell’s TotalPlant Solution (TPS) system, offering a unified safety, operations, and control solution.

FSC features a dual-redundant, fault-tolerant controller for safety and shutdown applications on the Universal Control Network (UCN). This design enables reliable integration with TPS system components, supporting both safety and process control functions while maintaining a separate safety network for emergency shutdown (ESD) functions.
