What Is It?
The SVP Controller is a major upgrade for Honeywell Enraf Small Volume Provers (SVPs), delivering advanced monitoring and control features for more accurate, reliable, and efficient proving cycles. Designed to replace existing control modules, it offers a comprehensive solution with intuitive features, robust data handling, sophisticated alarms, and support for water draw operations—all within an intrinsically safe design approved by ATEX and CSA for use in hazardous areas.
How Does It Work?
At the heart of the SVP Controller is a 3.5-inch, six-line LCD display that provides real-time visibility into key proving data such as:
- Piston position
- Motor and error status
- Sweep time (in seconds with millisecond repeatability)
- Prover ID and date
- Cycle value and on-screen cycle count
Operators can access full programming and diagnostics through the menu-driven interface using the handheld Local Access Device (LAD). The controller’s built-in cycle counter enables predictive maintenance alerts based on user-defined thresholds, minimizing unexpected downtime.
The sweep time display is critical for assessing the piston’s travel between optical switches—essential for calculating pulse generation and achieving high repeatability in proving operations.
